GMO Cookies lab report

Potency separates GMO Cookies: its 26.74% median total THC is 1st among 58 strains, and the 25% cutoff was still met by 65% of flower tests after 89% met 20%.1

Key findings

  1. GMO Cookies ranks 1st by median total THC among 58 strains, with 26.74%, and Blue Cheese is next below at 25.93%.1
  2. For GMO Cookies, the THC floor was high in the lab set: 89% met 20%, 65% met 25%, and 23% met 30%.1
  3. Limonene led the terpene table in 61% of 456 individual-terpene tests, ahead of β-myrcene at 22%.1
  4. The lab spread was wide: medians ran from 18.06% at Lab K (Maryland) to 33.30% at Lab U (Nevada), a gap of 15.24 points.1
  5. Terpene totals rose with THC: tests at or above 30.24% had a 2.50% median total-terpene level, versus 1.88% at or below 26.93%.1
  6. The Weedmaps snapshot put GMO Cookies 1st by menu presence: 24 of 27 markets had store listings, out of 50 strains tracked.2

Does GMO Cookies often reach 30% THC?

Not usually, but it was not rare either: for GMO Cookies, 23% of 2,159 flower tests were 30% or higher, while 89% reached 20% and 65% reached 25%.1

At the state level, the 20% share peaked in California: 98% across 50 tests, with a 31.25% median.1 In Michigan, the same cutoff was reached by 86% across 818 tests, and the median was 25.42%.1 State differences combine growers, labs and testing rules, so this comparison is not a plant-only statement.

Are GMO Cookies THC claims too high?

Yes for the single-number claims: all three we checked for GMO Cookies sat above the lab median of 26.74%, meaning fewer than half of tests reached each value.1 The highest single figure was Leafly at 28%, and 41% of tests reached it.1,3

Published ranges were uneven: 22–32% from Weedmaps covered 73% of lab tests, while 20–24% from AllBud covered 19%.1,4,5

Those references are not batch-specific; for any jar, use its own certificate of analysis.

What terpene comes first in GMO Cookies tests?

The terpene that comes first most often for GMO Cookies is limonene, though it does not lead every test: across 456 tests with terpene breakdowns, it ranked first in 61%; β-myrcene did so in 22%, and β-caryophyllene in 14%.1

The terpene sample is geographically concentrated: 406 of 456 tests came from Nevada, so the split mostly reflects that state's flower.1

What strains match GMO Cookies by terpene chemistry?

The closest terpene-chemistry matches to GMO Cookies are Chemdawg, led by β-caryophyllene, at 90%; Sour Diesel, led by β-caryophyllene, and Papaya Punch, led by limonene, follow at 89% and 89%, while Durban Poison, led by terpinolene, is farthest among the 36 compared at 40%.1

For the method, we convert each strain's median values for eight terpenes into percentages of that eight-terpene total. Two strains get credit for the portions they share; identical mixes score 100, and the pool is limited to strains with at least 30 qualifying terpene tests.1 Chemistry is all this compares; it does not predict effects for GMO Cookies.

Is GMO Cookies the strongest strain tested?

Yes, within our 58-strain lab set, GMO Cookies has the top median total THC at 26.74%; Blue Cheese is next at 25.93%.1 Its 65% share at the 25% cutoff ranks 2nd.1

The middle half ran 23.46%–29.83%; at 6.37 points wide, that was 41st by narrowness out of 52 qualifying strains, placing GMO Cookies on the more-variable side.1

Are GMO Cookies lab THC results far apart?

Yes, GMO Cookies lab THC medians are far apart: after the 20-test cutoff, 21 labs qualify; the low median is 18.06% at Lab K in Maryland, and the high median is 33.30% at Lab U in Nevada, for a difference of 15.24 points.1

The spread did not disappear inside Michigan: among 11 labs at the same cutoff, the low and high medians were 19.71% and 30.18%, separated by 10.47 points.1

Different labs receive different growers' flower, so these medians are not proof that a lab reads high. The point is that both grower source and testing site can move the THC value printed on a label. Lab IDs are masked in this page; the letter A marks the largest test count, while the downloaded file shows the actual lab names.

Does more THC mean more terpenes in GMO Cookies?

Yes: in GMO Cookies, the higher-THC third had more median total terpenes than the lower-THC third across 1,061 paired tests.1 The higher-THC group, beginning at 30.24%, had 2.50% median total terpenes; the lower-THC group, ending at 26.93%, had 1.88%, a difference of 0.62 points.1

The same direction appeared in 3 of 3 state checks: Maryland up, Nevada up and California up.1 In Maryland, median total terpenes were 2.00% in the lower THC group versus 2.64% in the higher THC group.1 Total-terpene percent is a by-weight chemistry total for aroma compounds, not evidence of effects.

Is GMO Cookies weaker now than before?

Slightly, in the overall qualifying-year comparison: GMO Cookies had 29.11% median THC in 2018 on 28 tests, then 27.66% in 2024 on 21, a change of −1.45 points.1

Within Maryland, however, the direction flattened: 2019 sat at 29.08% and 2023 at 29.46%, for a difference of +0.38 points.1 That contrast shows that which states supplied the tests affects the overall trend. We drop years below the 20-test minimum.1

What products carry the GMO Cookies name?

The exact GMO Cookies label mostly reaches labs as flower: flower accounted for 74% of 3,140 records, while the non-flower records were concentrates at 16%, shake and trim at 5.0%, plus other or unrecorded at 3.1%.1 Only flower is used for this site's potency and terpene summaries.

Longer labels add an excluded layer: 1,899 results included GMO Cookies plus other wording, 38% of the broader name-matched set; the largest were “GMO x Skywalker OG” (238), “GMO x Root Beer Bulk” (48) and “Legendary GMO” (39).1 We leave those out because added words, cross marks or CBD versions can signal different plants; see the matching method.

What this data cannot tell you

  • The tests cover GMO Cookies flower reported in 10 states from 2018–2024; they cannot identify what is in a specific jar, which requires that batch's certificate of analysis.1
  • These are chemical lab measurements, not a promise about anyone's personal experience with GMO Cookies.
